Dell Bios updating arrangements vary In the case of my Dell Inspiron 7779, Bios updates do not get installed through WU automatically unless I install a particular Dell update, "BIOS Flash Utility", that probably enables such behaviour [its description is vague]

Just review the Dell web site for upgrades for your Service Tag Wow! Are you certain the Dell SA was the BSoD culprit? i e , did you use the SA to perform a task that then caused the BSoD? I recently used the HP version of SA and it saved me from an occasional BSoD by informing me of a driver update

Uninstall it or stop it from running automatically from startup If you later think you need it, re-install it from the Dell support website for your model using the Dell Service Tag for your device Hope this helps

Dell Update is a usefull program to check that your drivers, BIOS etc are current It should be available to run a check on demand, but really has no need to load at startup or to run in real-time
