The R7000 is not known to be user friendly So if you don't know much how to work manually through the settings it maybe be a bad choice picking up the R7000 I'm on 150mb but i did have the same problem when i installed it out of the box But you could try logging into the router then go to Advance setup select Wireless settings try unchecking

The r7000 shipped in 2013 so is 7 years old which is ancient by tech standards although a very well performing router Had one when they came out and worked well, however, Netgear has managed to take an excellent router and turn it into a pile of cra with firmware updates

You can always look to dd-wrt tomato (3rd party firmware) Thats open source and the R7000 was easily capable of running them Brought a lot of advanced features to it And it still gets updates I normally warn users it'll void your warranty and you have to go through those forums for support but you're way way past your warranty 🙂

The r7000 is configured with different SSIDs and password The other indicator lights say that the 2 4ghz and 5ghz are broadcasting I also see the white power light and the amber internet light, I don't think there are any other lights on but I'm not currently home where I can see the r7000 router
