A guitar in a case, in a box, is going to go through all the climate changes it travels through and or is stored in Unless your house is roasting with wood stoves blazing, I doubt there's likely to be climate shock by unboxing it If there's finish damage it's more likely to happen while enroute and being knocked around

If the guitar is going to be mostly a homebody and well taken care of, there's nothing wrong with the finish and the guitar will be very pretty If it's going to be heavily used, I'd suggest something else -- the finish doesn't protect particularly well against moisture, chemicals (sweat acids, drooled pineapple juice, etc ), dirt or staining
