threebond yamabond case sealer is what i used to use on all my jetski crankcases never had a leak and thats with no gasket, pressure ,oil and fuel running through the crankcase full time
- Manual says Yamabond #5 on case, but many use #4. Why?
It would appear that Yamabond #4 is a clear favorite among many of you for sealing the case halves This is the NON-HARDENING sealer My 1990 Yamaha Enticer manual says to use Yamabond #5 for the case halves This is the HARDENING type of sealer The manual also calls for the #4 in a few places; usually on one-side of a paper gasket
- Hondabond 4 - Adventure Rider
Hondabond Yamabond Dreibond 4 The hot new sealant Tried it, hate it It applies well and seals well, but it's a b %#h to get the BMW cylinders free

924 931 944 951 968 Forum - Yamabond usage on the oil pan gasket - When installing a new oil pan gasket, I am aware that you are supposed to use gasket sealer (Porsche recommends Silastic RTV 730 sealant @ $100) on ONLY the corners of the gasket Does the same thing hold true if you use Yamabond instead? If one
- Permatex Gasket Makers - Drei Bond 1209 alternatives
DreiBond 1209, HondaBond, YamaBond are all non-reactive with aluminum Please provide independent data to back up these claims Permatex says their grey sealants are non-corrosive I didn't go further into the sds's to confirm they don't release acetic acid when curing That would be pretty shocking if they did
- yamabond on cases - Hardcore Sledder
Yamabond is very good stuff actually I've used it on lots of things exposed to coolant But you're case halfs dont see coolant anyways
- Preventing gaskets from sticking to metal? - Adventure Rider
I have used permatex 2B to "hold" gaskets to one surface and grease or antiseize etc to keep the other surface from sticking for maybe 40 years? This allows a gasket to be kept in place and reused multiple times I tend to place the part on a flat surface with a weight on it until the 2b sets and then install Also +1 on Yamabond as a go to product #11
- question about yamabond - Rennlist - Porsche Discussion Forums
924 931 944 951 968 Forum - question about yamabond - From searching it appears some people use yamabond 4 on the oil pump to block seal But others use it on the oil pan (corners)
- Yamabond 4 and Permatex Ultra Gray -- Are they really the same?
The Permatex Ultra Gray is not the same as Yamabond-4 which is not the same as Triple-bond One general rule-of-thumb is to never, ever use ANY silicone type sealant where it may see oil
