- Speed to ONT • Sonic. net
I am wondering if there is a way for me or Sonic to measure the speed up to the ONT I recently installed a router that supports 10Gb, running a speed test from the router reports pretty consistently speeds between 5 and 6Gb These make me think the router is doing well above 1Gb, the cable is likely also well above 1Gb, but I never get close

Sonic speed test by [email protected] » Mon Dec 28, 2015 7:47 pm While looking into a perceived download speed loss I find that my sonic modem shows 15xxx but the sonic speed test gives 13xxx which is correct and any reason why?
- Any accurate gigabit speed test site? • Sonic. net
Before someone asks wired connection, single server, no other user usage, etc Same setup, system configuration not changed, random test times over six month period In contrast, my speed test for Fusion (same location, ADSL ~8Mpbs) and Comcast (different location, ~150Mbps) are consistent But both of these are not gigabit service

I have Sonic 10 Fiber and I am able to get about 8 gigs symmetrical from the ONT if I plug directly into the ONT using a 10G USB C Adapter The ONT will only issue one IP address so I simply cannot put a 10g Switch behind the ONT So the issue is happening in the UDM world and not on the Sonic Fiber side I am using a UDM Pro as the router
- New to Sonics 10GbE Service - What speeds should we expect?
The Archer router has an internal speed test I can access via app, and it shows download speeds up to 1156 2 Mbps and upload speeds up to 1083 5 Mbps This is more than my 1GpE ATT service (upload up to 881 4 Mbps download up to 916 6 Mbps), but not close to 10-times the speed
- Only getting half speeds over ethernet with 1gb fiber - Sonic
So you may see slower speeds shown in the router’s interface for testing results, but that’s not a valid test: it’s just showing the limit of the router’s CPU Routers do though pass traffic through at “wire speed”, not through the CPU, so a router might pass traffic at 900+Mbps but show an internal speed test result that’s far lower
- inconsistent fiber speed • Sonic. net
We just got fiber connected last week The technician got over 900 Mbps when he connected his laptop directly to the modem, but every time I run the Sonic speed test with my gigabit-capable MacBook attached directly to the modem with a CAT6 or CAT7 cable I've been seeing around 500 Mbps
- Got Fiber 10G But Not Thrilled About Speed. • Sonic. net
Okay, I'm glad that I finally got fiber into the house after years of waiting, The tech did a speed test at the modem and told me he got 7GB down and 4GB up, After he left I hooked up my laptop directly to the modem using a regular ethernet cable (an old cable but brand new), I was getting about 800MB up and about 800MB down, After hooking up a WiFi 6 router I was getting about 260MB down and
- Gigabit Fiber Upload speed gotten significantly slower since Apr 18 . . .
I have had Sonic Gigabit Fiber (Mission District, San Francisco) since 2018 Overall, has worked great I have been consistently getting 900+ Mbps download *AND* upload (as measured by speedtest net) But something has happened recently I have a cron job that runs the speedtest CLI program and logs the upload download speeds
- Ubiquiti UDM PRO SE with 10G fiber: what you need for connecting! - Sonic
It slipped right into the WAN2 port on the UDM and the cable the Sonic tech brought plugged the ONT into the UDM Once connected, I did a speed test: Screen Shot 2022-05-09 at 4 50 46 PM png
