Did I miss the announcement for Hoi5? Hoi4 even still gets updates and has supported multiplayer - it is an active game And they didn't make the game free, they made "DLCs" free, DLCs that 1 should have been part of the base game, and 2 were overpriced, definitely not worth what they charged for them
