The scores on Monkeytype's leaderboard are comical and I can guarantee are way faster than any other typing test on the internet 15-sec tests and 10-word tests especially have exacerbated this issue I understand that Monkeytype can be highly customized to provide a typing test that better reflects your true typing speed

Coming from that mindset my configuration on monkeytype is very close to what you recommend Though, apart from the guide being too long (it has a lot of repetitions) I feel like it focuses too much on improving one's worst performance rather than improving evenly on all fields

I've tried about 6 different sites now and find they all give me different results so I've narrowed it down to these two Monkeytype consistently has me at a much higher score than typingtest com, but monkeytype doesn't have any capital letters or numbers, which typingtest com does have

Keybr is much better as a beginner than monkey type I actually started at TypingClub just to get familiar with which finger to type which keys, once I was a comfortable I then progressed to keybr got green on all letters, I am now using monkeytype which seems the next logical step Long road ahead Each site seems to have it's advantages, I would have been frustrated to start on monkeytype
