Re: Boat bouncing on trailer How does you boat ride sit on your trailer? My small trailer has rollers up down the center with bunk boards on either side One of the rollers is near the front, about as far front as it can be and still be under the boat (this is the most forward support contact point)

Re: Typical charges by boat mechanics If these were V6 or V8 engines I would first check the two banks of cylinders that face each other These would be the port side of the starboard engine and the starboard side of the port engine You would look for evidence that those 6 or 8 plugs were actually replaced Why? Because of the close quarters it would be easy to just change the two outer banks

Re: Boat taking on water Have you ran it and looked at all hoses etc? If it's not bellows, and it takes on water while on muffs, it certainly sounds like an engine cooling system issue Hose, manifold (s), thermostat housing, fuel cooler (not sure on 4 3) etc I think I'll move this to the Merc I O section Not sure how water entering hull on muffs could not be engine drive related This

Re: Need help fixing holes in aluminum jon boat Clean the aluminum throughly Mix up some Marine Tex and smear it across the holes and a bit around each hole Now lay a piece of fiberglass cloth over the Matine-tex and work it into the material Cover the cloth with some additional marine-tex and smooth it out That repair will hold up to some flexing and should be strong enough
