- what ever happen to army san marcos guns - SASS Wire Forum
The 2nd ASM is a Colt SAA clone, the EMF "Hartford" model EMF had ASM building them before they switched to Uberti This gun was thoroughly rebuilt by Oglesby Oglesby and is a fine revolver having had the cylinder and hammer re-hardened, and wire springs installed, including the Ruger style coil handspring and plunger
- Best and worst SAA clones? Advice, please. - SASS Wire Forum
The other is a generic one that I used as the basis for my "Big Iron " But, I think ASM is gone now Great Western, the original clone, was a great gun, but it has some very odd differences, such as a frame mounted firing pin But if you can find one, they are worth getting Mine's a 44 Magnum
- Things to look for avoid Schofield - SASS Wire Forum
I took one (not the aforementioned ASM) to an indoor range for some new toy time and I'll bet it took 200 rounds for me to get comfortable shooting it If'n someone is used to a plow handle or Bisley revolver they might not want to try a match with a Schofield without having shot it once or twice Just a little bit of a learning curve involved
- Which to Choose when first Buying a Single Action Army?
I've owned new and old model Vaquero's, ASM clones, and Colts Prefer the Colts Yes, you can load 45 Colt to near 44 magnum power, but if that's what you want get a 44 magnum, and don't risk blowing up a perfectly good gun by accident Don't ask me how I know this I started with a 4 3 4 barrel, and added a 7 1 2 barrel, which I really prefer
