- Is there a great WDT tool out there you all can recommend?
Also note the so-called business card WDT tool available via etsy for a whoppingly low $7 99 (shipped, no less; stands extra) And there's the new, cool subminimal Flick WDT pen-like tool with its retracting needles (if going that route, also order a pack of its replacement needles, which are at the more-recommended, smaller width size)

11 votes, 54 comments I can make a great espresso without one but would a WDT tool make my coffee any better?
- Convince me WDT tools are doing something worth it : r espresso - Reddit
I've seen WDT tools recommended by various people YouTubers to "break up the clumps" from grinding I honestly don't understand it - what is the point of breaking up clumps, when you are going to put 15-20kg of force when tamping, and compress it to a huge even clump (which is the point of tamping) I honestly don't understand how this can affect anything at all in the process, as any fluffing
- Beginner-gear: WDT or a needle distributor? And calibrated . . . - Reddit
Would you recommend a normal WDT tool and a regular distributor, or is a needle distributor a good way to do both? How do you find the regular Sage filter baskets? Wondering if I should upgrade this too, or if it can wait? I’m asking because I don’t know how crucial the basket is to run good shots, when I’m still a beginner

- Best WDT officially? : r espresso - Reddit
The best WDT tool is the one I crafted for myself out of a wine cork, some cut up GMAW feed wire, my used up roll of mexican solder, a piece of steel sheet I found and a blow torch I stole from the other end of the factory
- Leveling, WDT and Other puck prep tools showdown : r espresso - Reddit
With WDT: pics and video No WDT: Honestly since I didn't like using this tool I skipped the test OCD V3 The other conventional approach of the leveler tools, a 4 "blade" design, that do fits better than the BT Wedge, and the coating helps to deal with static, but I'm not sure to get anything useful out of it With WDT: pics and video
- Do I need both of these tools? : r espresso - Reddit
I really need to get a proper WDT tool, my shots are extracting very inconsistently… if I get the distributor tool with the needles (1st pic) which I hope I can use as both wdt and distributor… would the regular distributor (2nd pic) still be necessary? I’m also getting a new tamper but that’s another topic I’m using the one that comes with the Breville bambino for now
